Three years ago, I set about to collect some stories to develop a skit about the Queen of the Furrow for the 2008 International Plowing Match (IPM) & Rural Expo.

The personal stories were increasingly interesting, and as I did some research, I realized they were a side of the program few had heard before, unless they were immediately related to a queen.

50 Years... Furrows, Crowns & Gowns reflects on the Queen of the Furrow program, through the eyes of former queens and those close to them. It is not a history of facts and dates, rather a collection of personal stories and photo.
